The result: most have increased and diversified revenue, created new models for engagement and distribution and increased web traffic by an average of 75 percent.  

 

Knight journalism intern Paige Levin interviewed the leaders of local online news sites of the initiative to highlight best practices, lessons learned and opportunities ahead.
